The official world women’s rankings have been updated for the penultimate time during the 2024/25 season following victory for Ng On Yee at the Landywood British Women’s Open on Sunday.

The WWS world rankings operate on a rolling two-year basis, with points earned during the 2024/25 season to replace those earned through the 2022/23 campaign. At this revision no points have been removed (due to the date change of the British Open this season) and those earned at the 2025 British Women’s Open have been added.

The total rankings points of each player are calculated from their best 14 results during the current counting period.

Ng Closes In

World number one Mink Nutcharut will head to the World Championship next month at the head of the world rankings following her fifth consecutive appearance in a world ranking final.

Following her defeat to Ng On Yee in the title match, however, the gap between the top two has been reduced from 5,875 points to 2,750 with just one event remaining to determine the season-ending world number one.

Taking into account the points due to be removed from the world rankings at the end of the season from the 2023 British Open and World Championship events, the pair are set to be separated by just 250 points on the provisional end of season list. Having not held top spot since April 2019, Ng can return to the summit if she can progress one round further than Thailand’s Mink in Dongguan.

Behind the top two, there remains little to separate Reanne Evans and Bai Yulu in third and fourth positions after both lost at the quarter-final stage in Landywood, while Rebecca Kenna holds a comfortable fifth position having reached the semi-finals.

The top 10 remains unchanged following the action at the British Open, with sixth placed Baipat Siripaporn set to defend a significant amount of points next month following the expiration of her total earned following her world title win in 2023.

Notable Movers

Outside of the top 10 there is a new career-high for Thailand’s Narucha Phoemphul who climbs two places to 11th following her breakthrough run to the semi-finals which included victory against 12-time world champion Reanne Evans.

There are also gains for So Man Yan (+6), Jasmine Bolsover (+2), Sophie Nix (+1) inside the top 20, while Yee Ki Ho (+2), Diana Schuler (+2), Natasha Chethan (+1), Jaique Ip Wan In (+6), Kate Le Gallez (+2), Laura Killington (+9), Chan Wai Lam (+28) and Ellise Scott (+1) are among the movers inside of the top 40.

Under-21 / Seniors

Ellise Scott is the new number one in the Under-21 rankings after the 13-year-old defeated Chan Wai Lam 2-0 to complete the successful defence of her British Open title at Landywood.

With three junior titles won in total since May 2025, the talented youngster jumps two places above Sophie Nix and Narucha Phoemphul to reach the summit for the first time.

There is also a gain for Hong Kong China’s Chan, who moves up two positions to sixth following her second successive Under-21 final appearance.

England’s Tessa Davidson continues to dominate the Seniors rankings following her third British Open triumph at the Landywood Snooker Club.

The race is hotting up behind her, however, with Sarah Dunn having overtaken Diana Schuler for third place, while Scotland’s Deborah Fladgate has jumped nine places to seventh following her maiden final appearance. There are also gains for Lesley Roberts (+1) and Selina Dean (+3) inside the top 10.

The 2024/25 season will conclude with the World Women’s Snooker Championship from 20-27 May 2025 in Dongguan Changping, with entries to open soon.
