The 2024 World Women’s Snooker Championship is now open for entry as the biggest tournament in women’s snooker heads to China for the first time in its history.
Organised by World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) and Cantonese Snooker (Chang Ping), the event will run from 11-17 March 2024 with the winner set to earn a coveted two-year World Snooker Tour card from the start of the 2024/25 season.
Announced last month, the seven-day competition will be held at the Dongguan Snooker Academy in Dongguan Chang Ping, highlighted by a stunning two-table arena, supported by several additional tables to accommodate a large field anticipated for the event.
Leading players including defending world champion Baipat Siripaporn of Thailand, world number one Mink Nutcharut, record 12-time champion Reanne Evans and rising star Bai Yulu from China are expected to be among a strong field who will contest the 41st edition of the competition since its first recognised staging in 1976.
Alongside the main competition, the event will also include the latest Under-21 and Seniors World Championships won last year by India’s Anupama Ramachandran and Mary Talbot-Deegan of England. Both events will provisionally be played to a conclusion across the opening two days from 11-12 March.
