The World Women’s Snooker Tour will return to mainland Europe with the staging of the Belgian Open next April.

Provisionally scheduled to run from 1-3 April 2022, the popular event will return to the Trickshot Snooker Club in Bruges for the third time, with the fantastic support of club owner Olivier Vandenbohede and his team.

Won previously by Reanne Evans and Ng On Yee, the event saw significant growth from 2019 to 2020 with a 50% increase in entries. It is anticipated that the accessible location will once again attract a strong field, with the opportunity to combine tournament play with a visit to the stunning city of Bruges during the weekend.

The event is set to be the fifth world ranking event of the current season and will provide a crucial opportunity to earn ranking points as the season reaches its conclusion. There will once again be Under-21 and Seniors side-events staged, with a Challenge Cup tournament for players not qualifying for the final day.

As in previous years, we anticipate there being a hotel offer in place with the Hotel Velotel and will provide further information within the event entry pack in due course.

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “We are all excited to be able to return to Bruges for the third staging of the Belgian Open. Olivier and his team at the Trickshot have always provided us with such wonderful hospitality and helped to make this an event that we all look forward to.

“It is also an important landmark for the WWS Tour to be able to return to mainland Europe and provide further playing opportunities for our European players as we continue our recovery from the global pandemic.”
