Winchester Return for WWS
We have today announced changes to the planned World Women’s Snooker Tour calendar for the remainder of 2021/22 season.
Belgian Open Postponed
The final scheduled event of the season was due to be the Belgian Women’s Open from 1-3 April 2022.
However, with strict COVID-19 restrictions, including the requirement for face masks to be worn while playing, having only been relaxed in recent days and the potential risk of measures being reintroduced at short notice, a decision has been taken to postpone the event until the summer.
We remain committed to returning to Bruges as soon as possible and aim to announce a new date for the tournament as soon as possible.
Leicester Return
To ensure the completion of the season as planned, we are therefore pleased to announce the staging of the Winchester Women’s Open from 2-3 April, which will see the Tour return to the Winchester Snooker Club in Leicestershire for the season finale.
The event will be sponsored by the host venue, which earlier this year successfully staged the British Open won by Nutcharut Wongharuthai in January. Owned by Mukesh Parmar and his team, the facility has 12 full-size snooker tables – many of which have now been recovered since January – and is a 147 Club member of the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards.
Alongside the main competition, there will also be side tournaments played for Under-21 and Seniors (Over-40s) players, with a Challenge Cup on the Sunday to guarantee play for all players on both days.
There will again be FREE entry to the main competition for any first-time WWS player, or any player who has not played in a WWS event for over 10 years. When entering, please do not make payment and we will mark your entry as paid.
Entry for the event is now open with the closing date for entries is 4:30pm GMT on Friday 25 March 2022.
How to Enter
All entries must be received through WPBSA SnookerScores by completing the following steps:
- Register an account / Log In to WPBSA SnookerScores
- Select an event from the WWS organisation page or from the ‘My Player’ section of your account and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Pay your entry fee from your ‘My Payments’ tab.
Your entry will only be formally accepted upon receipt of your online entry AND payment of your entry fee by the event entry deadline.
The closing date for entry/payment of entry fees is 4:30pm GMT, Friday 25 March 2022.
