World Women’s Snooker (WWS) and the Q House Snooker Academy have announced a new partnership that will support the junior stars set to compete on the WWS Tour during the 2022/23 season.
Based in Darlington, the Q House Snooker Academy is a high-quality snooker venue which houses eight Xing Pai tables, with resident players including professional ranking event winners Thepchaiya Un-Nooh and Hossein Vafaei. The Academy also supports a number of female players, most notably Thailand’s Ploychompoo Laokiatphong and Lilly Meldrum of Australia, and has been keen to increase its support of women’s snooker in recent months.
The new agreement will therefore see the WWS Under-21 Rankings officially sponsored by the Q House Snooker Academy throughout the 2022/23 season. The Academy will also fund a special trophy to be presented to the highest ranked player on the Under-21 ranking list at the end of next season.
Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “We would like to thank the Q House Snooker Academy and in particular owner Chusak Phetmalaikul (pictured above) for their support of women’s snooker, both in respect of individual players and the Tour as a whole.
“The promotion and encouragement of junior talent represents a key objective for us as these players represent our next generation and the sponsorship provided by Q House will only help us to support these players further.”
