Bio

Scotland’s Sophie Nix joined the World Women’s Snooker Tour in 2021 aged just 13 and reached the quarter-final stage of a world ranking event for the first time in 2025.

Nix enjoyed her best run on the Tour to date at the 2025 WSF Women’s Championship as she scored wins against Yasmine Eythrib and Boutaina Belhachmi to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Despite losing out to former world number three Rebecca Kenna at the last eight stage, Nix also made it a week to remember by earning her first frame against reigning world champion Bai Yulu with a career-best break of 56 during the group stage.

Her previous best runs both came at the Women’s Masters in London as she reached the last 16 stage in both 2023 and 2024, while she also claimed her first Under-21 title at Frames in 2023 with win against Ellise Scott and Zoe Killington.

The talented junior had previously made her breakthrough on home soil at the 2022 Scottish Open as she qualified from her group for the first time, as well as reaching the final of the Under-21 competition to earn her first trophy on the circuit.

Nix would also reach the final of the Under-21 competition at the 2023 British Open and in February 2024 rose to number one in the junior rankings for the first time, going on to finish the 2023/24 season in top spot.

The talented youngster scored her biggest victory to date at the 2023 UK Championship as she defeated former world number five Emma Parker during the round robin stages of the event.

World Snooker Tour

Nix made her professional debut at the 2024 Shoot Out, having qualified as one of eight WPBSA nominations on account of her position at the top of the WWS Under-21 Rankings.

She would ultimately lose out to compatriot Anthony McGill by a scoreline of 40-7.
