The provisional calendar of events for the first half of the 2022/23 World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour season has today been announced with an unprecedented five different countries set to stage ranking tournaments by the end of the year.

The action will begin with the 34th edition of the UK Championship at the end of July, with women’s snooker to return to the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds once again.

In August, the Tour will head stateside with the landmark staging of the US Women’s Open, which will be held at Ox Billiards in Seattle for the first time.

The 6-Red World Women’s Championship is set to return to the calendar in September for the first time since 2019, together with an all-new ranking event. Both tournaments will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, with the venues to be confirmed in due course.

October will see the welcome return to the calendar of the Australian Women’s Open, before the Tour heads to Scotland for the first time in almost 20 years with the Scottish Open at the Q Club in Glasgow.

The year will conclude with the Eden Women’s Masters, which will take place at Frames Sports Bar for a third time in late November.

“Crucial to Our International Development”

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “We are delighted to be able to announce such an exciting calendar of events for the first half of next season.

“There are women and girls around the world who are determined to be a part of the WWS Tour, and it is crucial to our development as a truly international tour that we can provide as many opportunities as possible to all.

“We are therefore extremely grateful to our partners in the USA, Australia, Thailand and beyond for their support, as well as our friends within the UK, without whom these tournaments would not be possible. We look forward to seeing both new and returning players back on the baize next season!”
