Reigning World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Champion Bai Yulu will compete at this season’s Champion of Champions for the first time after the first 13 confirmed qualified players were announced earlier this week.

The elite invitational tournament won last season by Mark Allen will return to the Toughsheet Community Stadium in Bolton, from November 11-17 and once again the WWS world champion is included among the field. Bai will follow in the footsteps of Reanne Evans (who memorably pushed Shaun Murphy to a deciding frame in 2019), Mink Nutcharut and Baipat Siripaporn who have previously competed in the event.

The 21-year-old became only the 15th player to win the WWS world title earlier this year in Dongguan Changping following a dramatic 6-5 victory against world number on Mink Nutcharut in the final.

The home star had previously come from 3-0 down to defeat 12-time world champion Reanne Evans 5-3 in the semi-finals, while she also achieved history in the title match as she compiled a break of 122, the highest ever to be made in a world final.

With further ranking event victories at the British Open and most recently the 2024 UK Championship, Bai has rocketed to fourth position in the world rankings and has established herself as one of the outstanding players on the Tour.

Following her world title, Bai joined the World Snooker Tour from the start of the 2024/25 season on the first year of a two-year tour card.
