Bio

Mongolia’s Narantuya Bayarsaikhan reached her first World Women’s Snooker Tour semi-final at the 2024 Australian Women’s Open.

Having previously reached three ranking event quarter-finals on the circuit, Narantuya went one better in Sydney following a 3-2 victory against Yee Ting Cheung of Hong Kong China.

Up against world number one Mink Nutcharut in the last four, Narantuya would lead the match on three occasions – notably having two attempts at the black ball in frame six to claim a career-best victory – but would ultimately just miss out as eventual champion Mink fought back to win the match 4-3.

Previously, Narantuya had made an immediate impression on the WWS Tour, most notably scoring a shock 4-2 victory against three-time world champion Ng On Yee at the last 16 stage of the 2023 World Championship in Thailand on her debut, before losing to eventual winner Baipat Siripaporn in the following round.

Further quarter-finals followed at the 2024 Belgian Open and US Open tournaments, prior to her last four run in Australia.
