World Women’s Snooker (WWS) has today confirmed the eligibility criteria for the 2023 Women’s Snooker World Cup which will run from 25-27 February at the Hi-End Snooker Club in Bangkok, Thailand.

The invitational event will be held for a second time following its inaugural staging in 2019 and will see countries from around the world represented by two-player teams, with qualification based upon the official world ranking list.

The tournament will be followed by the 40th staging of the World Women’s Snooker Championship, alongside the Under-21 and Seniors Championships from 28 February – 4 March.

All four tournaments will take place at the stunning Hi-End Snooker Club with the full support of the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand. The venue successfully hosted both the World Cup and World Championship events in 2019.

Eligibility

Previously won by the Thailand team represented by Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan and Waratthanun Sukritthanes in 2019, the three-day Women’s Snooker World Cup is once again set to offer a memorable opening to a week of world class snooker at the Hi-End Snooker Club.

Each country will be permitted a maximum of two teams, represented by two players per team, except for Thailand which will be allowed a third team as host nation.

Ranked players will be invited to compete in the tournament based on their world ranking position after the 2022 Eden Masters. Should they not take up their place, or decline their place by 13 January 2023, the place will be offered to the next ranked player in line from that country, until the teams are filled.

Where a country has four players set to compete, the highest two ranked players will be paired together, followed by the next two highest ranked players.

Players from countries who do not have a ranked player are encouraged to contact us to register their interest in competing in the tournament so that as many different countries may be represented as possible at this global event.

The tournament will be played under the format and rules in place at the professional World Cup held by the World Snooker Tour.

How to Enter

All eligible ranked players will receive a formal invitation from WWS by email (by no later than 23 December) to compete in the event, including instructions on how to accept their place.

All other players, either lower ranked or from countries that do not currently have a ranked player, are encouraged to contact us to register interest in competing in the tournament should an opportunity become available.

Full tournament information, including hotel/airport shuttle information, can be found within the event entry pack which all players are encouraged to read carefully.

Should any player have any queries, or have not received an invitation and believe that they should have, please contact us.
