World Women’s Snooker Day 2022

World Women’s Snooker Day will return to the Betfred World Snooker Championship on Wednesday 27 April.

First arranged back in 2013, the day has been held online during the past two years due to coronavirus restrictions, but this year will return to the Sheffield Winter Garden at the heart of snooker’s flagship event.

As in previous years, activities will be staged throughout the day with the aim of raising awareness of the World Women’s Snooker Tour and the opportunities available for women to pick up a cue and play our sport competitively at all levels.

Women’s snooker has seen significant growth in recent years and is now an established qualifying pathway to the professional circuit. With no fewer than 170 ranked players from 29 countries, the Tour welcomes players of all age groups and levels of ability.

The day will be coordinated by both World Snooker Tour and WWS, with WPBSA Snooker Coaches Mark Peevers and Annette Lord set to be joined by selected Tour players to help promote women’s snooker.

Women’s snooker will also be featured as part of the BBC’s live coverage from the Crucible, with a feature filmed at this year’s World Women’s Snooker Championship won by Nutcharut Wongharuthai in February.
