Bio

Hong Kong’s So Man Yan is a two-time ranking event finalist who has competed on the World Women’s Snooker Tour for over a decade since her debut at the 2009 World Championship.

A consistent match-winner early on, So recorded impressive wins against Tatjana Vasiljeva and compatriot Ng On Yee to reach the final of the 2012 Agnes Davies Memorial tournament in Wales, before ultimately losing the title match to Jaique Ip Wan In.

She would repeat the feat five years later at the Eden Masters tournament in Derby, wins against the likes of Rebecca Kenna, Suzie Opacic and Ip Wan In seeing her into a second final, ultimately losing out to Reanne Evans.

She has reached the quarter-final stages of the World Women’s Championship on three occasions, most recently in 2014, and has twice won the Challenge Cup competition at the event (2009 and 2019).
